Dear parents and carers

Last week of term
Wednesday is our last day, and we are open as normal. Don’t forget that we also have a great summer programme – so please check out our new Children’s Centre calendar to see everything that’s going on through July and August.

If your child is leaving us to go to primary school, we wish them all the very best for this next exciting stage in their learning.

For children who are returning in September: the first day back is Thursday 13th September. We will be engaged in staff training for the first two days of term, and then we are home visiting all the new children. You can see all the term dates on our website.

Lots of parents gave us very helpful feedback at Progress Day – thank you for that. We also encourage you to give your views online on Ofsted’s ParentView website.

Lesley’s retirement
At the end of this term, our wonderful and much-valued Deputy Headteacher Lesley is retiring.

Lesley has made an exceptional contribution to the development of Sheringham Nursery School and we are going to miss her hugely. Amongst her many achievements over the last six years, she has set up our Forest School, developed our Teaching Training and mentoring, and worked tirelessly to make sure that we offer each child the very best care and teaching we can.

We will miss her enormously, and wish her well for her retirement. Personally, I wish to thank Lesley for leading the school so well when I am working in other schools and for being such a supportive colleague.

We are also saying goodbye to:
Shareef, who has worked with us for the last seven years and is going to travel the world. Shareef has made a huge contribution to Sheringham, especially in developing Forest School and our outdoor play.
Rumana has been with us this year and helped us to develop our provision for children with Special Educational Needs. We wish her well as she moves on to gain more experience and prepares to train as a Speech and Language Therapist.

Dr Julian Grenier, headteacher
